I have always been fascinated with cemeteries….actually so is my sister and niece….it must run in the family! So naturally, I decided to photograph Creed’e cemetery. There were many fascinating and interesting things to look at there. It sits on a hill above the town and apparently the grounds keeper had quit, so it was quite unkempt, which IMHO only contributed to the atmosphere there. I shot tons of pictures. The instructor was really not very excited with many of them on my first attempt, so he challenged me once more to go back and try again, paying attention to composition and light. I hate to admit it, but I made four trips up there during the week that I was in Colorado. I captured many images that I did like. I am going to post some of them over the next few days.
Kara had told me about this family plot, so I made sure to seek it out. It really is a legitimate grave site! I have spent a lot of time wondering about this family……… I shot this with my 10.5 Fisheye. I really do find this a fun lens to use. I love how you can be practically standing on your subject, but still get the entire image and more. If you look closely at the right edge, you can see the rounding, which is what the Fisheye does in order to capture a wider angle of the view. You won’t see it as much on the left of this image, because of the crop that I made. I will be posting many more images from this lens in the future, so stay tuned.
Everyone at the workshop kept referring to this as my “Herb Garden Plot Shot!”
