Last December, while attending Larry Painter’s Herding Workshop at Brigands in Vancouver, Washington, I had the opportunity to photograph my Aussie, Spyder, and his two brothers. The 3 humans had a blast setting up the 3 boys to pose for the camera! It took a few tries, but success is so sweet……just look at these gorgeously handsome boys! I can tell you right now that they are all going to be forces to deal with in the herding world! They each have their own unique styles and are so much fun to watch! Their breeder, Trudy Viklund of Double V Stockdogs, did an amazing job with this litter and I feel so privileged to have Spyder!

Quite often, photographing dogs can be very entertaining. These 3 brothers had not been together for a very long time. At the clinic there were lots of people, sheep, cattle and other dogs…..translation….lots of stimulation and these 3 were just over a year old! I just kept shooting while Trudy and Edith, Manny’s owner, organized the threesome. Sometimes you can capture some pretty funny out takes! Manny really just wanted to roll in the hay and well….just looking at Newt and Spyder will describe their opinions!
